How to Choose the Right Bikini Bottom Front Rise for Your Body

The rise of your bikini bottoms can make a huge difference to how your physique looks, both in photos and on stage. A few centimetres higher or lower can completely change the appearance of your waist, torso and overall proportions.

When we recommend a front rise, there are two main factors we consider: your height and your individual proportions.

1. Your Height

Height is one of the best starting points when choosing your bikini bottom rise.

Smaller, more petite frames simply don't need as much fabric to achieve the same level of coverage. If the front rise is too long on a petite frame, the bottoms can sit unnecessarily high and overwhelm the torso.

As height increases, we gradually increase the standard crotch length so the bikini sits naturally in the correct position.

Our Standard Height Recommendations

Height Standard Crotch Length*
150–159cm 38cm
160–169cm 40cm
170–179cm 42cm
180–189cm 44cm

*These measurements are our starting point rather than a one-size-fits-all rule.

For the most accurate fit, we recommend adding your personal crotch measurement in the order notes so we can customise the rise to you.

2. Enhancing Your Proportions

Your height doesn't tell us everything.

Two athletes can be exactly the same height but have completely different proportions. One may have a longer torso, while another carries more of their height through their legs.

This is where choosing the right rise becomes much more personal.

If you have a longer torso, a slightly higher-rise bottom can often create a more balanced look, visually shortening the torso and bringing more focus towards the waist.

If you have a shorter torso, going too high can sometimes make the body look compressed. A slightly lower front rise can create more space through the midsection and help elongate the torso.

We also consider where you naturally like your bikini to sit. Some athletes prefer a lower, more minimal look, while others feel their proportions are enhanced by bringing the front of the bikini slightly higher.

The aim isn't simply to make the bikini higher or lower - it's to find the position that makes your physique look its most balanced.

For the Most Accurate Fit, Submit Your Crotch Measurement

Although height gives us an excellent starting point, we always recommend submitting your personal crotch measurement if you want the rise to be completely customised.

Measure from just above the butt crease, through the legs, to where you would like the top of the bikini to sit at the front.

This allows us to create the rise specifically around your body rather than relying on height alone.

Even a small difference in torso or pelvis length can affect where a bikini sits, which is why a personal measurement is the best way to achieve a really precise fit.

Low, Standard or Higher Rise?

There isn't one rise that looks best on everyone.

A lower rise can work beautifully on shorter torsos or if you prefer a more minimal front.

A standard rise is designed to give a balanced, flattering fit based on your height and overall proportions on stage.

A higher rise can help enhance a longer torso, emphasise the waist and create the appearance of longer legs. Ladies who would like a little more coverage, for example over scars, may also prefer a higher-rise fit.

The most flattering bikini isn't necessarily the highest or lowest - it's the one designed around your individual proportions.
