Bikini Tops

IFBB Elite Bikini athletes are required to wear a more structured bikini top than is commonly seen in some other federations.

Full bra-style cups are the standard choice, creating a polished, balanced and feminine look. The emphasis is on elegance and proportion rather than minimal coverage.

Athletes should ensure their bikini provides appropriate coverage and support while complementing their physique.

Bikini Bottoms

One of the most important IFBB Elite bikini rules relates to glute coverage.

Bikini bottoms should provide approximately two-thirds glute coverage, and athletes can be asked to adjust or replace a bikini that does not meet the federation's requirements.

This is one of the reasons many competitions conduct bikini inspections during registration, allowing officials to confirm that suits meet the required standards before athletes compete.

Connectors & Embellishments

Crystal embellishments are widely used within IFBB Elite Bikini, with athletes often choosing fully crystal-covered designs that complement their physique and stage presence.

However, unlike some federations, IFBB Elite places greater emphasis on uniformity and presentation standards. Bikini designs should remain elegant and in keeping with federation regulations.

One important distinction is that decorative crystal connectors are generally not permitted. Most athletes compete in a cleaner, more traditional bikini style without connector hardware between the cups, straps or bottoms.
